Grandma Jean

The world lost a wonderful woman today.
My Grandma Jean is now in Heaven, home, she called it. She was ready to go home.
I will miss her and will pass down her love to Sage and Avery.
Sage was able to meet her last year, I'm so glad!
She was my last grandparent on this Earth, they are all together now looking down on their growing families.

4 Generations!

That's What Friends Are For!

I am 37 weeks pregnant Friday!
I am feeling all of those 37 weeks right now. I am starting to see my hands and feet swell, it is hard to pick up Sage, and I feel I am starting to waddle. :) Just every day things that were never a problem are hard now. Carrying the full laundry basket to the laundry room, bending over to pick up toys, and especially bathing Sage are a few.

That is where Katie comes in!
My good friend Katie Cato only lives around the corner and her daughter, Lia and Sage get along so well. She did more then she knows for me on Monday. She watched Sage while I went to a doctors appointment and then Ryan and I stayed over for dinner. I brought over some enchiladas I made and Katie cooked them and washed the super messy casserole dish!

Most importantly...Katie bathed both kids while I sat and watched. (and took pictures of course!) I know it probably seemed like nothing to her, but a night with out the stress and the uncomfortableness (is that a word?) of bathing Sage was HUGE to me! No tryng to reach over my big belly into the tub, no fighting him to get out of the tub, no strainig to pick him up and then chase him around the room to get him to lay still while I put on a diaper and PJs. I didn't have to do ANY of that! Katie did it all. And I must say, Sage was much better behaved with her than he is with me.

THANK YOU KATIE!

I have NO IDEA why this picture is sideways. Its not like this in My Pictures.

Momma time and Nursery Pics

I am 36 weeks today!!
We are very close to meeting our baby girl, Avery! Ryan and I can't wait to see and hold her.
With all the excitement and preparing I am trying my best to spend a lot of quality time with Sage. He needs his Momma time, because his world is about to be turned upside down. I am blessed that I get to stay home with him everyday. Not everyday is rainbows and sunshine of course...he is about to turn two and has the "no" and "mine" thing down along with hitting. Thats a whole other post.
My favorite time is in the morning. I get him out of bed and we go to my bed and just snuggle and watch cartoons. Sometimes we fall back asleep, sometimes we play, and sometimes we just lay there. I will miss it being just me and my little baby boy. But I know there is so much more in store when Avery comes! More traditions and memories to be made.
Yesterday we went and had breakfast at Top Donuts. As soon as we paid, Sage said "Bye Bye" and started toward the door. We had never stayed and eaten there before. He loved sitting, well, ok, standing in the booth and eating his donut holes. He watched everyone come in the shop. As the door opened a bell would ring and almost everytime he would look toward the door and say "Dadda?!?" Unfortunantly Ryan was at work.

Then we went to Mom to Mom, which is an AMAZING group that meets at Faithbridge, our church, every Thursday. Its two hours of fellowship and time to talk with other moms that have children around the same age as Sage. And there is free childcare! Sage seems to have fun in his class playing and doing crafts. After Mom to Mom he wanted to play infront of the Church and swing. We have never done it before, but I thought what the heck...We have nothing else to do and its a pretty day. So Sage and I swang on the swing and looked for sticks! He had so much fun. I thought about all the changes that were about to happen in our lives. Our family is so blessed.
Here are some pictures of Avery's nursery!

Blessed

A year ago this morning I was in the hospital having a small procedure. I had to have a D&C becuase I had a miscarriage. I had what they call a blighted ovum. A blighted ovum (also known as “anembryonic pregnancy”) happens when a fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterine wall, but the embryo does not develop. Cells develop to form the pregnancy sac, but not the embryo itself.
I didn't blog about it last year because it was hard to go through, and I knew I wanted to start trying to have another baby as soon as possible. So as soon as the doctor said we could, Ryan and I started trying to have another baby. And now, months later, we are about to have our little baby Avery! We are very blessed!

Everything happens for a reason. We can't wait to meet our Avery in the next few weeks.

Leaving you with pictures of our first little blessing...

My Dad got this fake dog from my grandma for christmas. Sage loves it. He always wants us to take pictures of him by it. He kneels down, hugs him, and says CHEESE! So cute!

Houston's Winter

So, we have not had a very cold winter. I remember being outside in December in short sleeves and being hot. The last week has been pretty cold though. We have been inside a lot lately. I remember one day Sage and I played with play-dough, painted, finger painted, played in his Teepee, read books, colored, played with all his toys in the play room and his room and it was ONLY 11am! That was a long day. We have made many Valentines and gone through lots of stickers.

Here are some pictures of our inside fun and a few times we braved the weather to get outside!

Putting stickers on the back of his Valentine Cards for his MDO classmates

Love these magic fingerpaints- only works on special paper!

Playing with his new toy from Caly and J!

Out to eat- He doesn't ever want to take his jacket or hat off when we get inside. We finally got it off him once the food came.

Out to play with the neighbors!

Feeding the ducks today
We have been outside today though, and tomorrow is supposed to be just as beautiful! Can't wait!
