Nap time

So, I decided that I needed to get Sage to sleep in his crib during nap time. His naps thus far have been speratic throughout the day. He sleeps great through the night in his crib, so I thought this change would be easy. I was wrong. It was hard... on both of us!

He usually stays up about an hour to an hour and a half after eating. I have been either holding him, laying with him, or having him nap in his swing. His naps were about ten to twenty minutes long, unless we were sleeping on the couch together. Those were long naps. I decided this had to stop. Well, little did I know, that was easeir said than done. First of all, I love holding Sage when he sleeps. I love laying next to him on the couch and falling asleep holding him. Second, freinds and relatives love to hold him. Everyone loves to hold the sleeping baby.

Today was hard! He was using me (or whoever was holding him) to soothe himself to sleep. I didn't give up though. I put him down in his crib very sleepy with the mobile and music on. When he cried, I comforted him, put his pacifier back in, and turned on the mobile. I didn't pick him up, I didn't give in and do the easy thing. He did pretty well for the first day. The longest he slept in his crib was 50 minutes. I'll try again tomorrow. I think they say it takes about three days to get them used to a new routine. I have noticed today that I NEED A NAP!! I usually get to sleep with him when he is napping. Not today! I was up and down the stairs today a thousand times!!

Advice to the new mommies and soon to be mommies... don't start the bad habbit I did. Even though you want to hold your baby and lay with your baby when he sleeps, get him into a routine where he naps in his crib from the beginning!

Not the Baby anymore

Sage has been the youngest baby around for a while. I'm used to seeing him next to much older babies. Not anymore!! Today Jessica and I took lunch to Katie and we took a few pictures. The boys will be fighting over Lia soon!

Lia is almost 3 weeks
Sage is almost 14 weeks (3 1/2 months)
Colt is 29 weeks (7 months)
(I think all those ages are correct) :)

Stevie Visits!

This weekend my friend Stevie came to visit us and meet Sage! Stevie and I have been friends since birth. She moved away in third grade, but we have still kept in touch. I havn't seen her since Ryan and my wedding, so this weekend was a great treat. I had so much fun. It was great having her here. I'm glad She got to meet Sage and I hope we can get together more often. Ryan, Sage, and I will be traveling to Dallas to see Stevie and Collin soon!! Can't wait to meet you Collin!

3 Months!!

Sage turned 3 Months old on July 29!

Ryan and I can't believe Sage is 3 months already! Our lives have changed in ways we planned for and ways we didn't. One thing we can say is that the last three months have been the best three months of our lives. We could not imagine life without Sage. He is the love of our lives and we can't wait to see how he changes and grows in the next three months! He brings so much joy to everyone he meets. His smile can brighten my day in seconds!

Some three month info
He sleeps through the night!!! Bed time is 8:30 and he wakes between 7&8 (normally)

He eats 6 ounces of formula about every 3 to 4 hours
He hasn't mastered napping yet. Still sleeps off and on about an hour after eating
He loves light up toys
He loves smiling at his parents and grandparents
We havn't decided if he really likes the pool yet
He does love bath time
He is starting to grab at mobiles
He hates it when the sun gets in his eyes (like his daddy)

We love him so much! Happy 3 Months Sage!!

Sunday

Sage sat in his Bumbo chair today for the first time!

Then we took Sage on a walk to see Katie, Philip and Lia. This was his first time to ride in his stroller without the car seat on top! He looks so small in it

Then we went swimming for a while. Not sure he likes it yet.

The pictues are in reverse order. It won't let me move my pictures anymore. They just come up as a string of letters. Anyone know how to fix that?

Sage meets Lia!!

One of my best friends, Katie Cato, had a daughter a week ago. Her name is Lia and she is precious! She had trouble breathing at first, but Katie and Philip got to take her home Monday evening. I took Sage over to meet Lia Tuesday afternoon. They were instant friends. At least we hope so! Jessica, Danny, and Colt came with Ryan, Sage, and I that night to have dinner with the new family. We didn't take any pictures (I know crazy right!) We will have many pictures with the three babies soon! It's so great that a bunch of my friends are starting their families right now. I just love watching them all grow up together. Here are some of my pictures from the afternoon! Look at her thick hair! I love it!

Colorado Trip

Sage went on his first trip this past week. Ryan, Sage, and I along with my Mom flew up to Colorado to meet my Dad. We stayed from Wednesday to Sunday. It was a great trip. The weather was perfect. We actually got to take Sage outside. Living in Houston, Sage doesn't ever get to spend a lot of time outside. It's WAY too HOT! He was outside a bunch in Colorado. He loved it and so did we!
