Sage was not napping very well and it was very hard to get him to go down at night. Katie Cato reccomended and let me borrow a book called Healthy Sleep Habits, Healthy child. I read the book the next day and started the sleep schedule last Monday.
What a world of a difference!!!! Sage is now taking two naps a day at 9 and 1 and sometimes a third nap. I soothe him for about 10 minutes then put him down awake. He doesn't even cry anymore. Just falls asleep on his own!! This is a HUGE succes for us. It;s so freeing to put him down and walk away and not spend 45 minutes trying to get him to go to sleep. Then at night, I bathe him, give him a bottle, soothe him and put him down. This used to take forever, but now I know he can be put in bed awake and fall asleep by himself! We are putting Sage down at 6:30 and he wakes around 6:30. No crying!!! Of course every day is not perfect and every nap is not perfect but it is miles from where we started!
The book has great tips, problem solving techniques, and explains to you how important good sleep is. THANK YOU Katie!!!
I highly reccomend this book! It is broken up into ages too! Great to have even if you are not having problems now. You never know what will come at what age!
